I am a product of the golden fields of Kansas, and music is my heartbeat. Raised in the embrace of church hymns and encouraged by my preacher-musician father, I found my rhythm in a family full of songwriters and musicians. Pulled in by thoughtful lyrics and a good melody, my influences are jazz and blues greats including Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, and Billie Holiday.

I am currently singing in two Albuquerque-based blues bands: Black Smoke Blues, and JR and the BluesMakers. Collaborating with fellow musicians is a cherished aspect of my journey, and I'm thrilled to be part of the Afriquerque series. Under the expert direction of the incredible Stephen Williams on bass and vocals, we'll be joined by the talents of Calvin Appleberry on keyboards, Tim Martin on guitar and vocals, and Wayne Johnson on the drums.

Prepare for an evening of the blues with a few fun surprises up our sleeves to ensure the audience is not just tapping toes but singing along! Grateful for this opportunity, I can't wait to share the stage with these amazing musicians.
